    1. You cannot abstain from them for ever…so societies depends on them, it’s the main food, understanding them is the best tool…

      If nature makes it we can have it and enjoy it, what we need to understand is how to have it without affecting our health.

    2. That’s the problem of reductionism.
      You can have starches and that’s ok . Food, as Dr Fung mentions in one chapter of the obesity code, is more than just a nutritional aid, it’s also a social component. Being restrictive can be worse .

      Doctor Fung has never supported this claim. Carbs are inportant components of a healthy diet .
