When the cerveza hit, the Cares act congress passed had a provision in there that stated that government will pay 200% of the market rent for those it gave the forbearance assistance to. Saw one landlord brag how he doubled rent the moment he saw that law pass in 2020 to match that 200% government promise. Disgusting, and now they won’t stop buying starter homes because of this mess.

Maybe the flight of capital from China’s stock market has something to do with the recent outperformance of the US and other stock markets, even despite the recessionary signs in the economies. At least it could be one factor. If so, any turnaround or bottoming in China’s market could signal a rush back in and could put downward pressure on these markets that are outperforming.
Yes some of the reason is inflows from other countries
I do think at some point we may go through a collateral call crisis related to markdowns on CRE loans and a broad repricing of collateral, which may then trigger deleveraging and asset liquidations that drag the markets down. Right now, the BTFP seems to have been delaying the inevitable, but the time to pay the piper is drawing nearer.

What happens to people who have credit card debt. How violent will things get. How vulnerable are we to? Can we get out to go to dr or the store? How do we handle people coming to our home wanting food?
