I agree, Dr. Fung. am un emotional eater . When i am borde i eat. I managed to deal with it now. When I fast I make my self busy. I worked, do méditation and swim . I am on my second day of fast 💪🏽
Carbs, especially processed carbs, makes me hungry. Ghrelin hormone. Meat protein and Fats makes me feel satiated. Leptin hormone. When ever I feel hungry but I don’t necessarily need to eat yet, I’ll eat a slab or two of grass fed butter and I can manage to not eat until it’s the next meal.
Makes a lot of sense, unbelievably so

This totally matches my long-distance walking experiments, especially in the Pyrenees where I got to experience my hunger coming and going very easily depending if I was approaching a village with potentially available food, or if I was walking away from it, knowing there hadn’t been anywhere open with food publically available. (I shared a longer story about it with photo of the experimental landscape on the Fasting Method Facebook Group.) I am so very hugely grateful for all the lessons you have taught us, Dr. Fung.
Since starting a fasting lifestyle 2 yrs ago I rarely feel hunger. I get excited to eat but I don’t feel hungry. It’s so weird…in a good way, I love intermittent fasting!
