  1. What I don’t understand is why it was necessary to have a prescription for this things in the first place… it’s not like it’s some sort of drug

  2. I just put on the Stelo CGM yesterday. I quickly learned my blood sugar fluctuates A LOT and it’s not from my LCHF diet… I think it’s from 5 hours of exercise that I do almost every day. I really enjoy exercise, not sure how I’m going to solve this problem, I don’t want to stop exercising the way I do because I feel great! I just learned black coffee spikes my blood sugar, WOW! Been drinking coffee for decades, had no idea it can spike some peoples blood sugar!

    1. Yeah, caffeine spikes me like crazy and exercise does too because when you exercise your muscles use stores glucose which spikes your blood sugar. Can’t do much about it sadly.

    2. @@joshtotenI think exercise also raises levels of the stress hormone cortisol, which spikes blood sugar.

    3. @@joshtotenI think it should be a good thing when exercise uses up the glucose in your muscles (spike) much healthier!

  3. My thoughts exactly, why did they ever require a prescription? I will be forever grateful for Beat Diabetes and Dennis, I will look forward to the day when I can afford a CGM until then “Mike” will be my trusted friend😂

  4. Got my Stelo yesterday and put it on 16 hours ago. It’s going to be a game changer. The only drawback is it will only give readings down to 70 mg/dl. If you want to get readings down to 40 mg/dl, you might want to wait for the other nonprescription device, the Libre Rio, which is due soon.

By the way, the “one time” is a month’s worth, like the subscription. You get two 15-day sensors. Just in csse anyone thought “one time” meant one 15-day sensor and therefore twice the price of the monthly.

  5. $99/ month. But the great news is you dont need it after a few months. You are now well educated and know what you can and cannot eat.

  6. I would certainly rather have the marathon runner (CGM) than the sprinter (Mike the meter). I do use Mike the meter right now, but I have to constantly be aware of when to test. The CGM would be great to have, but $89 a month added to the budget is not easy. There are some things we could trim financially to make it happen. I look forward to your review of it when you’ve had some time to test it out. You have helped me so much, Dennis. I have great respect and appreciation for you and your channel. God bless.

  7. That’s wonderful news. I was Diagnosed with diabetes June 2024 and I’m 73 and have been pretty healthy all my life till now. My A1C was 11.3! That sure scared me!!! Yesterday I watched your video on the ADA A1C calculator and tested 5 times yesterday and I’m now at 7.3. My dr wanted me to take Metformin and one other drug. I said no thank you and he was shocked. I’m trying to do this by myself. Hopefully I can get back to normal soon. One day at time. Thank you so much for your life saving videos. God bless you and your wife and have a blessed day ❤
