Yes, the initial statement was an error.

SOO WHAT ABOUT JUST DRINKING UNSWEETEN JELLO
Do the chia seeds also work for tequila?
You are saying that you WANT the gel-like substance to PREVENT nutrient absorption though the intestines? if I eat a healthy meal, then why do I want to block the nutrients in it?
Not block just slows, giving more even absorbsion, and less of an insulin spike also feeds you gut microbiom
Exactly! But to make it even simpler, our ancestors didn’t eat chia seeds. Any food that is man made (including fruits and vegetables) is not a food that is needed for optimal human health.
This guy is a charlatan and a quack. Fasting does not cause weight loss. Fasting doesn’t do anything. It’s the calorie deficit that causes the weight loss. Fasting itself has zero benefit. All of the benefits of fasting are derived from the weightless and calorie deficit. For some people fasting is contradictory because they binge during their feeding period and actually gain weight. You don’t have to fast to lose weight. It offers zero advantages. This guy just scams people and sells books for his kooky ideas that he himself probably doesn’t believe in.
Tell that to my scale.
Here we go again with the calorie nonsense. Catch up already! It’s hormones!
This is a bot surely,
I find this response with the ninja creami.
I love you, Dr. Fung! My entire life has changed after seeing you for the first time! One of my coworkers kept talking about chemicals in our foods and processed foods this one day around July 2024! God sent you to my feed that day, and I found out about Dr Lee! I purchased your books, but now I need to go back and buy the hunger code as part of my research on the subject of metabolic & normal health in gut! I’ve since then found so many other doctors who all speak about these topics, and I will stick to you all! In fact, I choose to watch podcasts over watching television! But you are always going to be, my go-to Dr!
I love your channel Dr Fung. I learn so much from you. Thank you for always sharing great information
The fad of eating Jell-O as a diet originated in the mid-20th century, peaking in the 1950s and 60s as a “figure-friendly” food, with variations continuing into the 1970s. It has resurfaced in 2025–2026 as a viral “gelatin trick” or “3-ingredient” diet, where low-calorie gelatin is consumed to increase satiety.
Mid-Century Rise: Post-WWII, gelatin was marketed as a modern, low-calorie, and convenient ingredient for salads and desserts.
1970s Trend: Popularity continued as a diet tool, driven by magazine ads focusing on slimness.
Modern Resurgence (2025–2026): Viral trends on social media have rebranded it as a “gelatin trick” for weight loss, often featuring sugar-free gelatin, or as part of a “bariatric diet” for, or, meal preloading.
Diet Characteristics: The diet is typically, or, characterized as low-calorie, often utilizing sugar-free, or, protein-packed gelatin in pre-meal or or, “night ritual” routines.
Chia seeds make things the consistency of snot. I didn’t like chia pudding.
Still on the more bulk and fiber myth? As a carnivore, I can’t tell you the last time I farted. But just thinking about those chia seeds makes me want to crap my pants. 😂
