The Calorie is Dead!

Counting calories is a failure for weight loss, because it doesn't consider the hormonal effect of foods. #weightloss #weightlosstips #jasonfung #nutrition #hungercode

  1. Everyone who wants to lose weight and keep it off should read the Hunger Code. Dr Fung you sir are brilliant.

  2. You you are not proud to be quoted in the New York CRimes. With the Statue of genocide Raising her Veto genocide hand

  3. Already pre-ordered The Hunger Code, can’t wait to read it! Dr. Fung, your teachings have helped me lose 125 pounds and counting, and drastically improve my quality of life! Plus, my husband has been inspired to also join my efforts after seeing my results, improving his health as well. I hope you win a Nobel prize for your work! Thank you!!

  4. I’m reading your book, “The Obesity Code.” So far, I’ve seen very little information/research re: fasting & women’s hormones compared to mostly men. Do you cover that in your new book? To be more precise – I’m a 71-yr-old woman. At 35, my gallbladder was removed. At 46, I had a full hysterectomy (HRT until 2023). My hormones & weight are maniacal. I really regret stopping HRT. Menopause hit like truck. Apologies for the long post. I hope my story will remind drs that we’re here, too. Thanks, truly, for all the work you do.

  5. I’m on day 16 water fasting and I’ve never felt better. Down 20lbs, no more snoring, skin is clear. Looking forward to a ketovore diet when I finish my 40 days. All glory to God, I couldn’t do this without the grace of Jesus

    1. I’d like to see any proof that Jesus was involved in this. Show me scriptural proofs, not some silly new-age spirituality.

    2. @mark0bravo you made the claim that you could only fast be the ‘grace of Jesus’. That was your claim I am asking about. Fasting is indeed mentioned in the Bible, but never in connection with health.

    3. @michaelshea4834 brother, I could preach a sermon on the spiritual benefits of fasting. My comment was on a health channel, not a Christianity channel, so I tailored my comment more towards health. God designed our bodies to fast, and it’s no wonder that there are health benefits, in addition to the spiritual benefits. God bless you, my brother in Christ

    4. @michaelshea4834you think like a machine. He’s referring to finding comfort in prayer and faith, which is known to help people endure more difficulties. For sceptical thinkers this falls into category of delusion, which works in the same way as faith.

No offense @mark0bravo, just explaining it to him in a way he can justify it.

  6. I love Dr Fung and credit him and his book The Diabetes Code for changing if not saving my life. As a result of his book I have followed a ketogenic diet religiously for 6 years and reversed diabetes and fatty liver very early in that.
Having said this I just cannot get on board with the blanket statement that calories are dead. I didn’t count calories at all to achieve my initial weight loss and get well but that doesn’t mean calories do not matter.
6 years on, if I gain any weight I drop back to 2 bacon rashers instead of 3, 150gram burgers instead of 200g, one egg with the rest of my first meal instead of 2-3.
I shed my little weight gain within weeks and this is 100% calorie reduction even though I don’t actually count them. It has nothing to do with carbs because that NEVER changes for me. Maximum 20g total carbs per day. Drastically carb reduction is the key but calories still matter in my experience.
