Nick Ortner’s Tapping Technique to Calm Anxiety & Stress in 3 Minutes

Have you ever tried EFT tapping for anxiety? Nick Ortner of The Tapping Solution shares a simple, introductory, three-minute EFT tapping technique you can do anywhere to instantly reduce stress and even stop a panic attack.

Follow along with these steps:

1. Close your eyes, and tune into your breath.
2. Start tapping on the side of one hand (the “karate-chop point”) with four fingers of the other hand.
3. Tap through face points, including the edge of the eyebrow, temples, cheekbones, upper lip, chin, collarbone, under the arm, and top of the head.
4. Close your eyes, and return to your breath.

  1. Really needed for this times. Whenever I feel anxious it is sometimes difficult to go back to my breath so it will be easier to remember this. Anybody having rough times… tap into it

  2. I cannot be more grateful to come across this video. My anxiety and depression were bad today, and during my first time through the video and tapping, I started crying. The intentions you speak while doing this made me realize I don’t ever truly give permission to myself to feel at whatever heights I feel at, and then let them go from my body. By the end of the three minutes I truly was breathing better. I played through it again, and the second time I noticed less coming to the surface of my mind when I looked for the stressors. Thank you thank you thank you 🙏🙏🙏

    1. @Kay Muldoon Develop your mental muscles. Heal yourself with determination. Your breath is directly related to your mind [brain] causing negative thoughts-anxiety-stress. For a relaxed life sit on a chair, back erect, hands on lap with palms upwards, eyes closed, be still and observe your natural incoming–outgoing breath at the entrance of the nostrils for around 5-10 minutes or more. Be as still as possible. Slowly negative thoughts will reduce and relax the mind. Patience is needed. During your daily activity keep observing your breath consciously. Do the above meditation daily to feel relaxed. Positive affirmations for 5-10 minutes before sleep also gives quick relief. Best wishes. Shyaaam Sir. –Counsellor.

  3. I actually discovered tapping by pure instinct while having panic attacks. In the midst of freaking out I started tapping parts of my body with both hands rythmically like I was playing drums to just try and distract myself and noticed that my pounding heartrate decreased rather quickly. I have also seen my vet do a simalar tapping thing to my cat when they are admistering a shot so it must be a way to distract the brain. It seems to work!

    1. I’m so glad I saw your comment. I’m actually having a lot of anxiety right now about taking my very anxious dog to the vet, so I thought why don’t I try this technique on her? I did, and it really did seem to calm her down. The more calm she is, the more calm I am, and it becomes a positive feedback loop rather than a negative one. Thank you!

  4. Thank you – I think this might have saved me from making a massive mistake and quitting my job on Monday. I often feel overwhelmed and I went from a 10 to a 4 in 3 minutes. I’m going to keep it up!

  11. I came across Nick on Russell Brand’s podcast. I could cry thinking about how it is helping me. Cptsd severe for years and this is the first thing that has ever helped me. I can’t thank Nick and Russell enough. Instead of wanting to reach for a substance that could cover and disengage my pain, depression, emotional pain, anger I reach for a device and go to YouTube and use this several times a day. Thank you 🙏 so much 🙏♥️💯

  12. Thank you so much for this. I have an intense fear of flying and doing the tapping got me on a long haul flight to Mexico from the UK. Flying home today so here I am again. I can’t tell you just how grateful I am. Thank you 🤗🙌♥️

  14. Thanks very much Nick, and Marie, this was so valuable. I breathed so much deeper and by the end (of ten rounds!!) released so much stress I’ve been carrying for 25 years.
I feel if there is stress in the shoulders we can’t breathe properly. Shoulders are busy carrying weight! So what released for me was first to acknowledge that I was allowed to carry the weight (bc duh, we are not supposed to be judgemental which is the flip side of “carrying the weight) and then to be able to shift that so its not carried in our sweet body.

  15. Thank you so much for this video, you have no idea how helpful this just was for me. I was holding onto a lot of anxiety and depression that I struggled with letting go. I let go of a lot of tears while watching this video and doing the technique. You guys are the best!!
