I think some people are sensitive to protein and get spikes accordingly. If someone is getting spikes from protein just add fat like avacado will lessen the uptick..
Dennis we call that the sugar rollercoaster. Eat many carb snacks and those people are constantly hungry. They’re insulin is jacked up all day long. Now that insulin needs sugar to neutralize the insulin. Theres just to much free insulin roaming the body. I should know those people use to be me…

I eat moderately and occasionally have fast food but do go to gym and swim no diabetes as long as ur exercising it’s all goodies
Keep your carbs down or eventually the higher glucose will catch up.

1 meat and eggs
2 green leafy salads and low carb veggies
3 high fat dairy – butter, cream, cheese
4 nuts
5 strawberries, avocados
6 low-carb bread substitutes (optional) – chaffle 🎉 mug cake, keto bread
These are all great solutions. I try to stick with these groups, and I also recommend pumpkin seeds along with the nuts. It may not benefit everyone, but it has proven beneficial to me in keeping blood sugar down.
When I was younger, I thought being very fit and athletic would let me eat anything i wanted.
Then I started getting an a1c of 5.8. I got a CIMT and discovered soft and calcified plaque in my arteries.
This is probably why very fit runners and cyclists can have coronary events…thinking hard, physical exercise will allow you to eat a lot of high glucose food.
I know longer can eat ketogenic because I am taking Jardiance.

I have found that most of the “keto” store bought items spike my blood sugar anyway. And a word of warning to anyone who is thinking of trying “Sugar Free” or “No Sugar Added” ketchup – it spiked me up a lot and quickly. So that was a $4.00 bottle of ketchup I can’t use.
