Thank you for the info! I have an interesting situation. My blood sugar rises to 120 in the morning. It stays up at 115-120 until I break my fast around 12-1pm. But, if I eat protein the mornings- like eggs- around 9am, my blood sugar actually comes down to 100 and stays down. Why is it higher with no food and for several hours. I’m prediabetic- A1C 5.9….i don’t mind fasting in the mornings but my blood sugars are worse. I’m 49 for reference.
Your liver may be dumping glucose while you’re in a fasted state 🎉
I am the same way, thanks for asking this question. I’m a 47 yr female.
Dr Kenn Berry did a video on this- I had the same thing until I reversed my pre-diabetes and it drove me crazy. When you eat it produces a slight insulin response regardless of what you eat. Even though it’s small due the low/no carbs it happens and that lowers your glucose. I finally got my morning glucose in the 70’s after strict carnivore-no dairy- for 10 weeks and a 72hr water fast every 10 days. I’m almost 58 and have been strict carnivore for 16hr wks as of today. Lost almost 80lbs over my keto and now carnivore journey. 10 more to go.❤
Thoughts on sugar diet or rice diet?
Good news. Thank you!
Can i fast with low platelets?
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
What if you can’t escape a stressful life? Can/ should you still fast? I’ve been doing alternate day fasting to lose 30lbs. It’s not working but I’m sure my cortisol is high. I’m caregiver for two family members with dementia and Parkinsons. I’m constantly stressed
Great question that I would love the answer to as well.
As i age i cant fast. I break out on my face with spiked cortisol
❤❤❤
What is working for me to lose the weight, after years of trying different types of the longer IF (i.e 36 hrs, 96 hrs etc.) with high cortisol levels is to not eat AFTER 15.00 hrs, having my first protein meal within an hour of waking up and only 1/2 cup of coffee before 12.00 hrs. BUT not as soon as I wake up. I feel the difference. Yes adjustment & discipline required but worth it. Finally losing the weight with ease. Hope it helps anyone out there☀️
