  1. I am. I encourage folks to not panic if you find you are too. Just take it seriously, and get serious about it.

  2. Still going with your advice, Denis, my poor friends don’t, many have gout joint replacement and clogged arteries, i sent your vid to them, no good, one even thinks i fall over any day now with my meat and dairy diet, with eggs and fish and cream.

  3. I really enjoy these videos – thank you so much Dennis. I recommended this channel to a friend who was diagnosed and she’s making changes. Her numbers are going down, down. Thanks again.

  4. I wish I found this channel during all those years when I was told I’m prediabetic because as Dennis said in this video about a lot of people, I did not take it seriously.

    1. You probably didn’t take it serious because any doctors you saw didn’t take it serious enough. I have a dr. right now who doesn’t take it serious enough. He is my age, and fat and sassy himself, so how can he take it seriously?

    1. I’d like an answer to this too. I would assume first bite since you can take a long time to finish a meal, but that first bite truly is the catalyst for changes in your body’s digestion systems.

    2. Take Middle of the Meal. For example if U keep eating for 30 minutes, count at 15th minute.
If U keep munching for an hour then count 30th minute

    3. Both Dennis and myself do 1 hour 15 meats at end of meal.

When checking a food do at 2 hours and 3 hours. As some foods can make BS shoot up at these times.

    4. At the beginning when you are trying to figure out how your body is responding to different food (and exercise and behavior like poor sleep) it’s better to check frequently. Get the 100 or 200 glucose strips and test before, 1 hr, 2 hr and 3 hr after a meal and do that for every meal. After you have learned how a specific meal affects your body, you can start reducing the number of tests. Many people use a Continuous Glucose Monitor that tests you every 5 mins, so getting a test every hour is not that strange. It’s not only about the spike but also about how long the blood glucose remains high after a meal. You are damaging your blood vessels, nerves and organs the longer that the blood glucose stays very high

    1. Never been able to find out but myself and Dennis do 1 hour 15 minutes from finishing the meal.

When checking a food do at 2 hours and 3 hours. As some foods can make BS shoot up at these times.

  5. Everyone talks about insulin resistance but no one talks about the actual levels of Fasting insulin?

    1. 16 Hours, one meal a day OMAD is recommended, but I couldn’t so started with two meals then 1.5 meals then one as my employer threatened my job Bcoz of high danger ⚡⚡⚡ blood pressure and blood sugars, eyes 👀 Field test failure… So had no choice

    1. Pathological is not resistance. It’s full stop no insulin a defect in the pancreas and is called type 1.

  6. Insurance companies and NHS do not test for small dence ldl. Too expensive.
You can get an idea from triglyceride HDL Ratio. HDL MUST be higher than triglycerides which should be no more than 1.7mmol

  7. My biggest question with insulin resistance is is it something that can be truly reversed? I know once you’re type 2, you’re type 2 for life however it can be managed through diet and exercise. That said, a type 2 can never return to “normal” eating without problems coming back. Can someone prediabetic get back to normal and still eat foods that are no-nos for diabetics without incurring any major problems?

    1. If by normal eating you understand doing it all day long you cannot reversed. If you start eating two meals a day, even one sometimes in time you will reversed…

    2. What you call a normal food is not normal.
The normal diet was low carbs, no seed oils, no processed food, very little pop or cola, sweets, or candy. No snacks 2-3 meals daily.
In the UK we still ate this 2-3 meal low sugar diet in the 50s early 60s. Gradually, the SAD was imported from the US, and by the 80s, 90s was in full swing. Animal produce was dropped, yet ❤problems sky rocketed along with type 2.

Type 2 was unheard of in 50s & 60s in children & teens. Obese children & teens were very rare.

      The US was much earlier.

    3. Never Cured, But even Controlled Diabetes is A Win win 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉.
Mine is uncontrolled even with several tablets

  8. I was told at 21 that I would be diabetic by the time I was 40. To a 21 year old 40 was in a 100 years.😅

  9. Yes I am. If I ever get below the levels officially called non-insulin resistant I will still insist I am because I don’t think you can really undo things completely ever again.

  10. Your channel is truly a blessing. Now that I’m using my glocose manual meter I see that total carbs and net carbs are a deception. I get a spike no matter how little I eat! Carbs are not my friend but I fully realize that they are needed for brain health. Knowledge is power so I plan to continue with my own 6 month challenge and see how to get my A1C down. On month one and next blood test is in August. Was 8.1 last time so I expect a vast improvement. Thanks

  11. You are a 100% , Dennis. I have young children that I am teaching to eat lower carbohydrate from the start. They have a huge headstart compared to myself.

  12. Central adoposity, high blood pressure, low, low HDL, gout, a lot of Cysts in the body caused by elevated Insulin growth factor IGF are only a short list of prediabetic insulin elevation.
