Terrific topic Dennis!
This is the exact reason that I hesitated to go carnivore. Unless it is the last resort, I am happy with low carb.
Low carb is the only way. ❤❤

1. Whole food plant-based diets was initially provided by God. 2. Variety in my diet is less limiting. Some food from the plant based diet still works for Dennis. 3. A diet of no carbs is un-natural, just like eating only meat is un-natural.
4. Whatever we do not use, we lose.

I think you are so right.
I went on a 3 day egg fast this week and lost 4 pounds . I need to lose 10 more pounds and keto should do it. I would do carnivore only I don’t like much meat except steak .
The plants before the fall were much different than they are now.
I have a moral issue eating carnivore. Factory farming is disgusting.

1. God initially provided the whole food, plant based diet…2. Carnivore further limits Dennis’ diet, when low carb will provide him the results he wanted. Variety works for him…3. A diet of (extremes un-natural: vegan, carnivore)…4. Whatever we do not use, we lose.

Thanks for the summary 😊
No way could I eat a full carnivore diet. If someone can do that ok but I have to have vegetables and limited grains.
I enjoyed your video on your two meal a day eating trial. It appears to me that there is a great diversity in the way we all differ in our response to dietary management of our insulin resistance and our carbohydrate intolerance.
So, what works for you may not work for others as efficiently. For instance, the small amount of Carbohydrate in those meals you ate, even broccoli, would spike my glucose quite a bit, taking a good while to come down. So, I tend toward a more carnivore approach that works for me and doesn’t raise my Glucose. I’ve done this for a few years. But maybe, that could change with time. Even with 1 meal a day my A1c’s are in the high 5’s and low 6’s. I am very active, which introduces cortisol into the equation. Playing tennis spikes me up. Bicycle riding 30 or 40 miles drops it into the 70’s . The point is we do what works for us. I pay for a CGM. (No meds) I just do better with carnivore.
Just last nite I said I need to hear Dennis’ view on carnivore. Lo and behold I woke up to this.
I applaud all who have found their sweet spot whatever the approach to normalize A1C, as for me I am still searching. 48 hr fasts help me but need to do more consistently then maybe I will eventually hit low 5’s
Most of today’s fruits and frankenstein fruits that are no where near the original ancestors. 2 examples: Wild apples and very small and very tart. Second example: Wild bananas have seeds and were very small. The original fruits were not as sweet
THANK YOU DENNIS , 😊 🙏 YOU SHOW LOVE ❤️
Wonderful! I doing low carb also! However I reject the evolution argument for a species appropriate diet.
Dennis there are certain people out there including Ken Berry MD and myself that are so severely insulin resistant that even three pieces of broccoli or four brussels sprouts or a half a cup of boiled cabbage will affect our ability to lose body fat. For people like Dr. Berry and myself it is absolutely essential that we eat a carnivore type diet.Anyone that thinks that this is poor advice simply isn’t that insulin resistant.
I’m insulin resistant. I’m trying to keep carbs around 50 per day or less. Are you at zero?
Dennis ,i could not survive if i only had to eat meat ..prefer a variety all the same . I believe what advice you give ❤
I did carnivore for a little over a month. I liked it, but I missed fresh vegetables. I still eat mostly meat, but I add in some steamed vegetables every few days
I reversed my prediabetes down to a normal A1C by cutting out table sugar and sugary treats. I still eat a lot of other carbs and my A1C remains normal after years. I get lab work done every 3 months.
For some people low carb may be superior to zero carb because of insulin spiking issues. Though you can eat more protein and less fat (or vice versa) to tweak insulin levels. Kelly Hogan’s insulin got too low and her AIC started creeping up. For type 2 diabetics, their insulin levels are high and they are very often overweight. Kelly, on the other hand, is all skin and muscle. To me that’s telling me that carnivore was making her very mildly like a type I diabetic. She just added some more carbs back in, spiked her insulin a bit and her AIC went down.
The only reason I don’t eat veggies anymore is because the fiber in them causes big problems for me. Other than that, I’d be happy to be able to eat greens again, like broccoli, spinach, and so many other low carb greens. I used to love them, and if I could eat them, I would. Sadly I can’t.
Apologies, but I can’t resist this!!

Server: ‘It’s bean soup, sir!!’
Diner: ‘I don’t care what it’s been – I want to know what it is now!!’
Well, there are many plants that are poisonous. Refusing to admit that is foolish. Also, plants do not contain all nutrients required by human body, you need a very heavy (and smart) supplementation if you want to eat only plants.
