    Good morning

Been listening to you for about 6 months. Followed your menu and advice. I went from 9.4 to 5.4 and lost 34 pounds. I’m so excited. Now I want off medication.

    God bless you

It doesn’t matter how accurate the GM is, as long as you keep using it, it’s going to at least tell you consistently if what you are eating is hurting you or not. If you are well below 140mg/dL you are on the right track. We can do this!! 🙂

Seeking the ‘perfect’ meter was one way I procrastinated on making the big lifestyle changes that were necessary. But all my meters, no matter the cost, track the trends up and down. All give useful feedback.

I was diagnosed with high a1c while in the ER during the begining of Covid. I had no idea. Drs wanted to put me on meds right then. I refused. I came home and started binge watching you, dr berg, dr fung and others. You were the most helpful for diabetes related info. I changed ny ways, fasted and brought my numbers down and kept them down for months. Then I stopped testing my bg because my insurance would only pay for 30 stripes a month. One strip a day. I also got a little too confident and comfortable and started eating too many carbs and sugar again. A few years later the Dr told me I had over 300 blood sugar. I forgot what the a1c was, but it was high. I started paying out of pocket for extra strips and using the meter several times a day again. I got back to eating right and fasting. Numbers went from over 300 to the 140s in one month. Im still chipping away at it. Im hopping to be under 100 in 2 months. Mike the meter is what keeps me honest and on the right path. Thank you Dennis for your channel.

A healthy dose of fear has been my motivator and he’s really good at scaring the the hell and the high carbs out of me.

I agree. My glucose, on several fingers(both hands) give me different readings (ex.124 on the left, 94 on the right hand). Still, if it keeps me under 140, I’m happy. 4 years into it, I already know what meals keep me under 140. I usually test myself With new foods or after meals where I eat proteins + fats first, then carbs. Even CGMs are only able to tell you “the neighborhood “ you’re in. Blessings ❤❤❤

If your blood sugar is high, you can bet that your insulin is also high. And that is also a big health concern. Lowering blood sugar will also lower insulin levels in your blood. So you get 2 benefits for the price of one. Use your meter, it’s a whole lot better than nothing.

Thank You! I needed to hear this video. ER diagnosed me as a diabetic 8 months ago. A1C 12.5 + high GL over 200. Now A1C 5.7. I panic if my fasting GL is above 120. Recently my testing was 100-120 all day. Last night it was 125 on a left finger and 102 on a right finger. Same thing this morning. I think I’ll buy a new tester. My A1C test is later this month.

  • @warrenlucier5796 says:

My meter reads a little on the high side in comparison to the lab testing for my fasting glucose. I’ve kept tract every time I get my labs done to see what the differential is. Just before leaving the house I test myself and write the time and level down, and also note when the lab did my draw for comparison when I have the test results. I feel it’s better to have a meter showing you’re the same or slightly higher than the lab vs the meter showing you being lower than you actually are. I feel the lab has better equipment than I have and this is how I keep track of it. The testing of fasting insulin and C-Peptide is also extremely necessary and not just the a1c results to know what is going on, as the a1c will look fine for quite some time whilst the pancreas is screaming it’s poor little guts out to give you a passible a1c. Hope this helps 🙏.

I got the Stelos CGM for one month. $100.
You can see your reaction to most foods you’ll ever eat in one month.

I have a ketomojo which is very accurate. I do have surprising readings some time. My typical fasting glucose is between 65 and 80 and over the last 90 days my highest post prandial peak was 117, but one day my fasting glucose was 365!

I figured out what happened. I was making honey fermented garlic cloves just before I pricked and there must have been some honey on my fingers. I’ve made sure to clean my fingers ever since 🙂
