Good morning Dennis!
What do you think of Chondrus Krispus Purple Irish Sea Moss?
You’re missing a key factor to low insulin. That is namely how often you eat, low carbohydrate below 20 grams a day is only part of a low insulin puzzle. You must also cut back on the number of meals or how often you eat. the best treatment is to eat OMAD or Less that is One Meal A Day or less like once every other day.
Losing too much weight on low carb is a problem…I eat mostly low carb and it’s a concern for a naturally thin person
@@brianmorris2643 Eat more Meat !Or eat more often!

Dr. Ben Bikman:
Simply stated, too much insulin causes insulin resistance. However, reversing insulin resistance turns into insulin sensitivity! Eat a low carbohydrate diet and let the magic begin! Bravo!!!!!!

Before I discovered my diabeties, I would wake regularly in the early hours, make a drink of beef stock and the contents of a instant noodle pack along with 3/4 of the noodles in a cup, then go back to bed. I did not know the damage that I was doing to my health. The knowledge you have given me has not only reversed my diabetic condition but also healed my heart disease, which at one time was at 20% function. I have lost 30Kg and my heart is now normal @ 60% function. Thankyou Dennis for sharing your wisdom.
I am not exactly disagreeing with you and Dr. Ben, but I think than insulin resistance is better thought of as the result of high glucose. Remember, insulin attaches to an insulin receptor on the cell membrane. This, in turn, results in Glut-4 transporters migrating to the cell membrane, where they PASSIVELY allow glucose to enter the cell. I emphasize passive, because the movement of glucose is controlled by the concentration gradient of glucose molecules. If the interior of the cell is already packed with glucose, stimulating more insulin receptors, (and thus Glut-4 transporters) will produce little effect. So I contend that excess carbs, over time will cause the body’s cells to become “full” of glucose to the point where insulin becomes ineffective….insulin resistance. You may think that I am arguing semantics, but the key for me is the understanding that Glut-4 transporters are passive, and movement of glucose into the cell ultimately depends on glucose concentrations in the blood vs in the cell interior. Eventually, high insulin and many Glut-4 transporters at the cell membrane will be ineffective. “Insulin knocking on the door, but the cell not responding.” The definition of insulin resistance!
If one ate zero-carb, how long would it take for the excess glucose in the cells to be depleted? Would one be iR-free?
Fasting helped me to lower my a1c far more than very low carb eating.
Greetings from Ethiopia. That was really inspirational. Thank you, Dennis.
So good to hear you reemphasising the basics Dennis as those are the ones that count – thanks.
Infuse extra insulin and worsen insulin resistance? That is the standard of care!
Do you have an opinion about eating order like eat carbs last on your plate? I’m 70. I’m sad because my PCP said I will remain pre diabetic and goal us to not become type 2.
High insulin is just a result of insulin resistance and not vice versa
Professor Bikman.. and Assistant Professor Dennis.. Thank you!
