  1. I’ve used numerous glucometers and I’ve found that the generic cheaper meters, on average always test a bit higher.

    1. That’s encouraging! Here in the UK I find the NHS lab that tests my A1c always gives me a higher number than I expect, but the time I had a test in hospital and the time I had a private test both came out lower. Which is more accurate? I just keep trying my best.

  3. I’ve been using the Contour Next $20 at Walmart It would be great if at some point you check that against Mike thank you for all you do to help educate us on this disease

  4. I use contour next because that’s the brand my doctor prescribed and when I replaced my old contour for a new one which pairs with an app to download the readings I noticed that there was a 3 point difference between the old meter and the new so there are differences in readings even in meters put out by the same lab.

  5. Good morning Dennis. So nice to see a new video from you when I wake up and sip on my black coffee.

  6. Good info. My Contour Next sometimes (3-4 times a week) varies 10-12 pts higher from 1 finger and then a different finger. If it’s higher than normal I recheck and it usually reads lower on the 2nd finger test?
