  1. It works during the fast, no doubt. It pulls you out of the worst flare, but it will probably come back soon after refeeding.

    1. My husband and I are on carnivore for 3yrs. Upper 50’s and no medications. My type 2 diabetes and stage 3 CKD gone even though my Dr said both were irreversible. I do a 72hr water fast every 1-2 months.❤

    2. @candacemowery7516 thank you so much!!! Continued health to you both. This was very helpful.❤

    3. Did you increased protein intake gradually or started carnivora diet 100% when you decided to opt for it for your CKD?What are your last UACR and eGFR?

  2. What should we eat during a fast?? I don’t understand that question 😅
Fasting does fix a flare-up Ive noticed, if you’re willing to stick it out more than a couple days and break it with plain homemade beef broth (no ingredients but the beef juice n water and leave some fat in there). Follow it up with clean ketovore

  6. Hi Dr. Fung, my name is Anca and I would like to know how can I decrease my Cortisol-level. I am a 53y premenopausal woman and overweight.
I do the OMAD for ca. 1 1/2 years and lost 15kg.
Thanks a lot for your time and all the documented videos.
I am also a MD and your helped me very very much ❤

    1. I really hope Dr. Fung answers your question. I’m in a similar situation as you, in perimenopause, overweight, and elevated cortisol levels. I heard that fasting, especially for prolonged periods, can increase cortisol levels due to the stress it causes the body. Especially if the person is already dealing with a lot of stress in general. I wonder if the fasting process, timing, or duration differs for women in perimenopause and have high cortisol levels.

  7. A low carb diet definitely made my Crohn’s disease better. Unfortunately I could not stick to a low carb diet but I have no doubt that a low carb diet and fasting can help with Crohn’s and colitis. When I was 8 years old back in 1984 a doctor told my mom to just give me plain unseasoned meat to help with my colitis that was a tall order for her and did not work out and ultimately I had to have my large intestants removed and I’m left with only the small intestants and the rectum but that doctor was onto something all of those years ago.

  8. Will Mediterranean Diet along with Intermittent Fasting be as helpful as Keto Diet along with Intermittent Fasting?
