Just signed up for the year!!! Can’t wait to get in shape with your workouts, Chalene!!! Love your positive energy and am inspired by you and your desire to meet women where they are!!! Always talking about current topics and doing your best to educate!
A great podcast. I’m walking more everyday. It feels great. I’m getting a weighted vest for Christmas 🎄. I bought a rebounder and that has been a game changer for lymphatic and muscle. Fun too!! Thanks Chalene for this information. MIDI is next on my list.
Oh wow! Your def killing it!🔥
Someone wanting to go on ozempic for 5-10 pounds is crazy!! Five pounds, even ten pounds could be just water weight!!! Especially if you’re at a certain age, maybe that’s now the right weight for you now??? That’s way too risky for that little amount. Too many adverse reactions have occurred with this drug, that’s even risky for someone wanting to lose 50-100+ pounds!
good point!
I haven’t tried it, but will admit it’s tempting since I’ve been stuck 10 lbs. heavier than I like for a few years, which may not sound like a lot but definitely feels like it on my small frame.
@uptightfreespirit4496 try alternate day fasting for 2 weeks. I bet you that’ll work.
I’ve struggled to lose weight since 2009 when I had my son. I was always a healthy weight for my height of around 120-125 lbs. after that I can’t seem to get under 150 lbs no matter what and I’ve done all the correct things, high protein, heavy weights. I know 150 doesn’t seem high to many but it is for my height. I also suffer from PCOS which causes insulin resistance. I started a low dose GLP1 with my amazing doctor and in 6 weeks I’m down almost 10 lbs, the most I’ve ever lost in over 15 years. I’m making sure I hit at least 100 grams protein each day plus keeping up with my strength training 3-4 days per week along with daily walking or jumping on my rebounder. The low dose was all I needed. It’s really been a great experience so far and is giving me my confidence back.
After pregnancy I got sent into a menopausal type metabolism. I’ve had to go gluten and sugar free 95 percent of the time.
What is a low dose?
@@brandirichardson1600 2.5 mg a week
I’m glad it’s working out for you!
I’m loving this interview format. Thank you for all you do. ❤
I LOVE THIS!!!! I lost close to 40 pounds. I’m 50, perimenopause, on HRT, and a carnivore. I started at 170 and am now 135 from GLP1. For the last 8 months, I have been walking 10,000 steps daily with a 20-pound weighted vest and strength training. It was the best decision ever! It has helped with my joint pain, inflammation, and overall quality of life.
I totally get joint pain because of hormones
Oh you are killing it! keep it going!!! 💪🏻
I was on GLP-1 for 3 1/2 months. It completely killed my appetite. I felt horrible-just exhausted. I was hardly eating but even worse-after all of that I didn’t lose a pound. My doctor has no idea why it “didn’t work” for me. I felt better when I was eating a high protein diet and starting to weight train more (even though I didn’t lose any inches or pounds). I don’t have an answer but I’ve seen it work well for others.
I have a friend who was prescribed this med bc she has PCOS and was borderline diabetic. She didn’t lose any weight on it either. She has since gone to a natural weight loss clinic and when I talked to her recently she was half way to her goal, not sure how TG went for her she may have taken a day off. Anyway this obviously was the better choice for her situation rather than meds.
I have PCOS and Hashimotos hypothyroidism, I’ve lost 54 lbs on Zepbound so far. I guess some folks are non responders. I’m a non responders to the sleep aid QUVIVIQ.
So sorry to hear that! Were you microdosing during that time?
Love this interview. I’m a type 2 diabetic. Started on Rybelsus (which is semaglutide in pill form) and lost a ton of muscle mass and 16 lbs in 1.5 years, then got on Ozempic and just maintained that weight loss but my AC1 got better however I felt awful… so I changed to Mounjaro 6 months ago and have lost 10 additional lbs and my A1C has stayed considerably low but more important, I have zero side effects from the injection. All in all, I’ve lost 37 lbs in a span of 4 years. I was a BOD fanatic and now just do zumba..I need to get back to weight training because I have no muscle mass, my body is exhausted and I just pulled/ strained my calf muscle grade 2. It’s gonna be a while to recuperate and I’m pissed.
In America so many are heavy. In Poland almost everybody is normal, and eating normal food. You never see people like very heavy never
@Haidi533. That’s because our government and FDA allow our food to be made with toxins, basically poison. And other countries do not. Praying that RFK, Jr will fix that! 🙏💪
I’ve loved you for YEARS and I am so thrilled with how open you are in discussing this topic and the empathy towards those who have struggled with their weight through their whole lives.
As someone who has had a battle with weight since childhood, and someone who has experienced what it was like to go from one of the biggest women in the room to one of the smallest in the room (which was a pipe dream to me), the world is absolutely more kind to a smaller frame. It could have also been that my own confidence was showing more… but even when I would let my self esteem fall, the world was a lot less judgmental towards my shortcomings… and that is simply how it goes. I won’t fault people for it… it’s not consciously done… and it doesn’t mean I’m valued any differently… but it does mean I show up in the world differently and so the world will express that right back to me.
Tirzepitide 2.5 for 4 weeks now. Energy, inflammation is down by 90%, lost Aboit 10 pounds. Feel like a different woman! I believe I will do this the rest of my life just how it makes me
Feel! I’m 9 pounds from my goal
Weight, but I’ll still stay in it. It’s transformed my life. I also take BIH and they really have kicked in.
I’m learning it’s inflammation reduction.
Same here, it’s been nothing but a positive journey. 100 – 125 gr protein ( protein shakes) help me get there. Inflammation bout gone, fatty liver Nash numbers down, strength train and down 54 lbs, hit my goal. My food noise totally gone
Why is there a picture of Jillian Michaels at the start? It insinuates that has used Glp1 when in fact she has been very outspoken against it 🤔
I wondered the same.
@@Mexicobeanpole I feel it is actually irresponsible. I am sure it was not Chalene’s doing but it needs to be rectified. If people are open about their use of the product then sure go ahead use their image but Jillian has been very outspoken about her concerns about the use of these medications.
Just commented the same!
I wondered the same thing
Oh this was such a great interview!! I’ve been on GLP-1 for 3 months and have lost the cray post-menopausal weight that has been absolutely stuck on my body. I now feel like bones, wrinkles and fat because I haven’t been weight training or eating enough protein! I’m still drinking way too much wine and without the food calories, not great.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS INFO!
This comment needs to be pinned!!! This is what I see
Oh! It’s not too late to start focusing on your nutrition and strength training. You got this!
Thank you for highlighting the truth around this protocol. I’m so tired of influencers and doctors reading a bit about GLP1’s and going off the deep end about muscle loss and side effects, and those arrogant folks who say you can’t lose weight because you eat too much and are not trying hard enough. It’s refreshing to hear from someone who has given this an honest look…would love an episode about reverse dieting to increase metabolism for those who have done too many LCDs in the past.
Thank you for your kind words! It’s so important to approach this topic with nuance and honesty to truly understand it with an open mind. Reverse dieting is an excellent suggestion, and I’d love to dive deeper into it.
Sal is such a boss. Love, love him and the other mind pump guys. Logical, non-obsessive approach
I couldn’t agree more!
Jillian Michaels does not take GLP1s….why did they show her?
Was on a GLP-1 for a few months and it caused me so many issues, and I felt sick and tired all the time! Not to mention, I couldn’t go to the bathroom ever TMI (sorry but true) 😖 I should’ve never gone on it because I wasn’t even overweight I just wanted to be super skinny. I wanted to lose maybe 10-15 lbs…well I lost way more and almost put me in the hospital from fainting all the time due to my B12 being so low and not being able to eat.
FFW to now. Been lifting for the past 9 months, eating healthy, taking my vitamins, and walking a lot! I feel amazing and wish I would’ve just done this from the start instead of taking the easy route.
Take it from me…if you’re not needing this, DONT TAKE IT. And if you do, do it the right way and don’t stop taking your vitamins and eating lots of protein!
Chalene, watching your channel helped me get my health back and I felt like you were in my corner every step of the way because I kept watching your videos to help me stay motivated and on track. You’re amazing 🩷
Sounds like the dose was too high. I’ve gone from 2.5 up to 15 mg never had one side effect on Zepbound
@ I was on the lowest dosage, my issue was not being able to eat anything and when I would it would be very little. Like I said…I did it all the wrong way. Should’ve never even been on them to begin with but I wanted to take the easy route 😔 I’ve gained all my muscle back plus more and that was the one thing I was scared id never get back because I was skin and bones by the time I got off it. It’s a great way to lose weight but it’s definitely not for everyone, and needs to be done the right way.
That sounds tough, but it’s amazing that you were able to bounce back and build healthy habits! I really appreciate your sweet words and You! Thank you!!! 😍😍
I’ve lost 52 lbs on Zepbound and 125 grams protein daily and I have gained muscle by strength training. I’m the healthiest I’ve been since 22 and I’m 58. If you can’t eat or have side effects the dose is too high. Dr. Tyna on YouTube can teach a lot about microdosing, too.
I love Dr Tyna! She was on the show the last time!
One of my big reasons for hesitating to take a GLP-1 med is gut health. Sal said he noticed gut health benefits @23:30, but how can it benefit the gut if the mechanism of GLP-1s is to *slow transit time in the gut* ? To me, that would *create* gut issues with fermenting food sitting in the GI tract for a longer period of time, affecting the balance of flora in the gut. As someone with a history of C.diff., that would concern me…
My thoughts exactly, my father just started Ozempic and his stomach got so bad and painful from constipation, he was getting dizzy too. He didn’t even come for Thanksgiving this year. I wouldn’t go near this stuff if you have a history of IBS or stomach problems.
This is a helpful video! It’s good to know the truth about weight loss *****. Thanks for explaining it in a way that’s easy to understand.
