Though not diabetic, my mom contracted sepsis when hospitalized many years ago. Thank goodness she survived this medical ordeal. However, it was a very scary time.

Am I allowed to increase metformin on the day I am going to eat more carbs? What do you think?

    • @petercyr3508 says:

Metformin helps keep your liver from making too much glucose. It does nothing for the glucose (carbs) you eat. Why would you eat more carbs? Its just glucose you do not need. Your liver makes all the glucose you need.

  • @elizabethdominis730 says:

Sepsis is when the infection enters the blood stream and spreads throughout the body.

  • @adeemmaona6630 says:

This is a very good one. Yet to listen to it though.

  • @petercyr3508 says:

My wife’s cousin is type 2 since 1998. He receives the typical poor treatment and bad advice from his doctors. Please pray for him. He gets very frequent UTIs and has been hospitalized more than once. Lack of glucose control because of his poor treatment results in sugar spilling into the urinary tract where it feeds bacteria. There is not supposed to be sugar in there. The drug farxiga also causes this.

  • @carnivoreessie says:

Dennis, I listen to you quite often and you always provide us with great information. This topic was especially helpful for me because I sensed the urgency in this message. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

  • @petercyr3508 says:

I thought the mechanism of poor blood flow was destruction of the capilaries just from the high concentration of glucose in the blood. It makes them rupture.

  • @kathym6603 says:

Most appreciative of your outstanding work, Dr. Dennis. Yes, I know, you are not a doctor but I can’t help myself.

    Dennis– What About LOSARTAN??????

  • @marklinnell7167 says:

There’s no upside to high blood sugar. Amazing how many people are still ignoring it.
