This Broke Me During Menopause

I felt like a stranger in my own skin.
My face changed. My energy disappeared.
No matter how little I ate or how much I worked out, nothing budged.
This is the turning point that finally made a difference, and it’s not what I expected.

  1. Did you also have abdominal surgery to create the six pack abs that you currently have? I thought you talked about some surgery was that for the lower abdominal area?

    1. Awesome! I’m so glad she did, not only did I learn a great deal from her interviews but I got the guts to start asking for hormone replacement therapy. It has helped me tremendously with hot flashes & many other symptoms. I’m also looking into peptides & considering that also. If people can get any other types of meds, prosthetics to treat their ailments like diabetes bc their pancreas doesn’t work like it should then y should women not get the meds they need that their bodies don’t make like it should anymore? Seriously, do u know how beneficial these hormones are? Not just feeling better but reducing the risk of heart disease, Osteoporosis, Alzheimer’s? Have u done any research?

    2. @@willowdreams1786 I’ve been researching hormones for the past 10 years. Ive been reading a library of books written by some of the smartest doctors who think out of the box. Most of these doctors got banned for their way of thinking. Now, they’re all over the place proving conventional medicine is a joke. Why do so many women not know how to be their own advocate for their own health. Women wait to get fat first then want a doctor to explain why they’re fat. Luckily for me, I’ve always paid attention to how other women decades older than myself have aged horribly, so i dont make the same mistakes they did. I think the most important thing a woman should do starting from the ages of 20 is to not be more than 10 lbs above their healthy weight. This is when you need to nip it in the butt. That extra 10 lb is your body telling you your body is going through some changes. Usually hormonal. Thats when women should be proactive, and not wait until they’re 50.

    3. @@willowdreams1786what peptides do you use? I just mean what are they called. I am trying to find the best way to start them and even find a good place to go to get them

  2. But I just can’t give up running. All the advice I keep hearing is to walk, lift, eat protein. What about those of us who run, or cycle, or do other endurance exercises? My soul needs it.

    1. I have the same. Live cycling, but I do it smarter and not every single day 😊 And weight lifting less, 3 times, not 5! More posterior chain (for cycling balance), but still full body.
For balance nordic walking, rollerskating sometimes for fun 😊

But i take glp1. My metabolism decreased drastically.

  3. Thanks for sharing those pictures. I just assumed you always looked amazing and it was nice to see you be a real woman with struggles and it shows that I can do this too.
    ❤❤❤

  4. Same!! In peri right now!
HRT fixed all the symptoms except sleep…. Still a work in progress

    1. @agar80 the progesterone doesnt help me sleep idk why. I am so tired. I dont understand why it isnt working like it should

Sleep music on all night, 200mg progesterone, 500mg glycinate magnesium, turning off screens at least 30 minutes before bed, not eating close to bedtime finally worked for me. IF/when I wake up, I lay there (no looking at a screen) until I fall back asleep. I either listen to an audiobook or continue listening to the sleep music. I’ve never slept much but REALLY believe that getting more sleep is the best thing that I can do for myself. Never knew that it would take so much effort but it’s going to be worth it!

  5. My son #2 got married this past weekend. I didn’t want to attend because no.matter what I tried on, I felt so gross 😢

  6. Love you C. You are really remarkable and beautiful! I hated what I saw too. The frumpy menopausal look is what I called it. I stopped the carbs, started working out more, bought a weighted vest (because of what you said) started my micro needling, tretinoin, castor oil, drinking cayenne pepper in the morning, making kefir and taking all the amino acids in supplemented powdered form in my shakes and juices, not eating any sugar, wearing my HRT patch, making fish stock for collagen…. It all weighs in: the only thing I need is an rf device for my jaw line. It’s not super meno but still a bit and I don’t like it. Watching a few things from Dr Rajani for facial exercises. It’s a complete different feeling and look all in all! It becomes a routine and even my husband loves to go along food wise now. Eating fermented small bites is another one. We need to watch our gut health too. Thank you for being so optimistic and active about this!! ❤
