Doesn’t Robert Kiyosaki talk negatively about stocks and 401k?

    • @jbrandonporter says:

He talks about not doing stocks without first knowing what you’re doing. He has a Rich Dad stock advisor (Andy Tanner) for a reason. He also talks about how trading the market is not for him, but it’s an asset class that you can do well in. For 401(k), he says that for people who don’t want to learn it’s the best option, but for those willing to learn, they’re much better off taking the money that would be put in the 401(k) and investing it in cash flowing assets.

The 401(k) thing is where I disagree with John. He started off as a financial advisor, so I get where he’s coming from since he worked in the industry for so long, but I tend to side with Robert on this issue. I’d much prefer to take that money and invest in cash flow rather than put it in a fund that other people get to manage and take a cut off the top. 401(k)aos is a pretty eye-opening book, if you haven’t read it.

This is why I’m one of his personal Advisors. He’s always advocated for looking at both sides of the coin. Which you should do.
