I posted this the other day on an older video but didn’t get a concrete answer, just that I was doing great, BUT is it enough? Long story endless…I was diagnosed with an A1C of 12.2 back in Nov. I immediately went very low carb and stopped eating almost all carbs and no snacking. I didn’t get to see an endocrinologist until January 10th. I had already dropped my A1C to 10.5. I started Metformin at the end of January. She also prescribed Jardience and I’m still too afraid to take it from what I heard. I went to a health screening at work (a hospital) 2 weeks ago. My A1C has dropped to 8.9 and I’ve lost 35 pounds since November. I am still eating very low carb (and low calorie) and no snacking. I eat between 5 am – 6 pm. My numbers spike with ANYTHING I eat…even if it is just a tiny amount of carbs and sometimes with no carbs at all! I’ve been exercising after meals – focusing on the large muscles to burn more glucose. I’m doing everything right and my numbers are in range most of the time per my libre3 sensor. But their idea of in range are 70 – 180. My usual numbers are in the 130 – 170 range including spikes and maybe a little lower resting glucose but the MINUTE my feet hit the floor in the morning, my numbers spike up 30 – 50 points. Once more thing, I am a worrier of the worst kind. I worry about my family, my health and lack of money. Trying to get a hold on all those cortisol hormones and other stressors. This is my main question – I’m doing everything right but my numbers still continue to spike (not nearly as much as before) but my numbers are usually between 110 – 160 – usually more in the 130something range during waking hours. If I’m doing it all right and continue to lose weight and continue this healthy lifestyle, will my numbers get better? Or am I just as good as it will get?

Check out Dr Sten Ekberg, probably there’s something you can tweek. Low carb with tre has worked for me. I do moderate walking so I don’t stress the body. Good luck.

Thank you, Dennis. My two main issues are lack of motivation and the law of inertia (resisting change}. I’m a Christian and know that Jesus id the Healer. He will do His part. and I must change my habits and do my part. Thanks for this encouraging video. I headed for the right path.

My doctor has never said one word about diet, just keeps increasing medication. I’ve learned what i know from you Dennis!

  • @gg456stormy says:

Went from 11.9 A1c, 304 fbg to 5.3, 82 in less than 4 months. The last 7 weeks with no medication. Low carb, tre, moderate walking, simple. Weight 247-197, triglycerides 160-72, blood pressure, alt, egfr, all normal. Thanks Dennis.

You speak to regular people without medical terms, graphs to enhance their letters after their name. We need the information which we can understand, you deliver. Jason Fung talks about fasting instead of just saying, eat two or three meals daily, no snacks. Some people think they need to not eat anything for days, i.e. fasting. Thank you for what you do, it takes a while to break bad habits.

To come out of diabetes mellitus type two Dennis you have just nail it on the head. Thanks again from Johannesburg South Africa 👍🇿🇦
