Of All the Glucose Tests I’ve Done – This is the MOST SHOCKING!!
Link to all "Beat Diabetes" videos:
Dennis and Benedicta Pollock, of Beat Diabetes, attempt to replicate a glucose test they did on themselves 7 years ago, one that Dennis could hardly believe. You might say it was shocking!

Thanks! And you guys are so cute! ❤
I needed this—- 😊
Many thanks for your faithfulness to the Lord and helping us to make right decisions about eating right
Thanks again from Johannesburg South Africa 🇿🇦
Greetings from Ethiopia. That was very informative. Thank you, Benedicta and Dennis.
Thanks for this. Seeing your numbers after 7 years is close to what happens to me when I “challenge”myself. I find I have very little wiggle room going off my very low carb lifestyle. I am able to keep my numbers in the hi normal or PRE D range, but when I go off it I can see my body does not handle it well.
Hello 👋
I am a diabetes management coach and public health researcher. I am not surprised at this. I have patients that can eat an apple and peanut butter and have no problem but I have other patients who even just think about eating an apple and their glucose goes up 100 points. I have others that spike from blueberries. Others spike from salad. Others still spike from certain kinds of animal protein.
This is pretty strong evidence that there are many people who are actually suffering from inflammatory reactions from certain foods and that is what is actually causing the spike, rather than the carb content itself. When such an inflammatory reaction occurs, it causes the lining of the intestines to open up which allows large sugar molecules to rapidly get into the circulating blood.
Please take this into consideration when making dietary choices 👌🙏💯
You’re not surprised that eating 110g of carbs in highly processed/refined muffins had nearly zero impact on someone’s glucose level? You must see a lot of metabolically healthy people in your practice.
Out of sheer curiosity, after you tested for the “after” number, did you do anything to get back to lower numbers again? I walk after my meals and that usually helps – but even more so, I don’t knowingly eat things that will spike my blood sugar. But I do appreciate you two taking one for the team : ) Thank you Den & Ben : )
Thank you Dennis and Benedicta for sharing this video. It is so very important to keep checking our choices and our glucose numbers. Very powerful video. Thank you both.
Did you all eat the same brand muffins from 7 years ago?
Thanks again from Johannesburg South Africa 👍💯🇿🇦
Thankyou Denis and Benidicta for changing my life. I was 97kg now I’m 67kg. Down 30kg in three months. My HBA1C was 7.2 now 5.6 and falling. I eat bacon, sausages, mushrooms, tomato and eggs for breakfast, though often sardines and kimchi. The Australian diabetes association told me to eat 2 slices of “wholemeal” toast with advocado for breakfast! That spiked my BGL to above 10!
I now know to eat the advocado and toss the toast in the bin, along with the advice they offered me! My brain fog is gone along with my obesity. I once felt I was quickly dying and now at age 64 I feel that I will live into old age. I don’t miss bread, chaffles are much tastier. Especially with bacon. Bless you both. Gazza.
Loved video
Excellent!!! 143
This is another really excellent video. Ann & I just love Benedicta. Dennis you’re ok, too. There is so much that can be unpacked in this video, but I’ll let those that watch it do their own homework. Here’s a hint. Knowledge is power. Numbers are knowledge. God bless you two.
Can you please recommend a good cgm?
Enjoyed this video – you two are great together. Thank heaven for experimental purposes LOL
Thank you Dennis and especially Benedicta! -You had only to lose. – I think maybe the original test result of Benedicta might have been erroneous. The 2 points difference seems really unbelievable! –
I’m still here, Denis.i have a large coffee with a little craam, and the same for lunch with a few nuts sometimes, then for dinner, meat or eggs or fish, i allow myself a treat sometimes, just not very often, im still 6.ft and 12 and a bit st. i take action if i get close to the 13th mark. today im 12.8. pound, good to go.
I think Ben’s response in the old video was because her liver was not making glucose on top of that from the muffin and she was very insulin sensitive. So her insulin went way up to good effect and her glucagon went way down shuttung down any glucose from the liver. She may have gushed too much insulin, however.
I’ve consumed those years ago, but now I fear even smelling them as I envision my blood glucose rising like the whistling tea pot sounds on the stove .
