Thanks for your insights. I am a physician in a small town in Montana. I have been advising Low-Carb diets with my patients for 12 years. There are some folks who no matter how hard they try is difficult to be diabetes. If I had to sum it up use a CGM or Mike the meter get rid of the spikes and if need be get rid of all Carbohydrates. Then you might need to even moderate your protein trying to get health.

  • @johnmadany9829 says:

Casey Means was having a discussion with Andrew Huberman and she talked about the value of a CGM. When we have so many things stacked against our health the CGM can help reduce the cognitive load in making decisions.
Dennis you definitely reduce the strain on our brains when trying to get metabolic health. You keep it simple and don’t raise the bar too high.

  • @alnoove9064 says:

As usual Dennis, once more you nailed it.

  • @christopherluce3294 says:

Low carb is the winner! But man the will power is also a big factor. I got off metformin had my blood sugar under control and screwed it all up this past summer. Now I’m back to keto. Will power is such a big factor!

    • @lindadoran6062 says:

Amen! I hear ya. I have the best of intentions but sometimes I break down and snack at night, then I’m sorry. It’s hard.

  • @suetsnbjj2853 says:

    🔥👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🙌🏻♥️ AMEN!

  • @world964 says:

Better to keep your diet plan simple. What significance does have a NY Times bestseller have in 2024? There is already enough good information on the internet without having to buy a book. This author is trying to be the next big thing like the Glucose Goddess.

  • @tinabarber2716 says:

Don’t listen to the snowflakes, Dennis! It’s important to call out nonsense when it comes to beating diabetes because some folks only have one chance to do it.

    Thank you for sharing

  • @JadaRose880 says:

I am from your generation and fortunately we did not grow up eating processed foods and having a diet eating fast foods. Casey’s generation is now facing diseases
that has never been seen before. Young people are dying from cancer and have pre diabetes. I think Casey is trying to help her generation get away from eating
processed foods and start eating healthy whole foods. Unfortunately, the majority of young people today are being told to talke the GLP 1 medication. I myself do
intermittent fasting but unfortunately I cannot follow your diet. I find it too restrictive and it causes me to binge. Ultimately we all have to find a healthy way of eating
that we can stick to.. I am glad you found a way to beat diabetes and have inspired people to try your method.

Natto is a fermented bean dish, popular (and, I think, invented) in Japan. It’s purported to be good for cardiovascular health. A constituent enzyme, nattokinase, supposedly acts as a blood thinner and lowers blood pressure. I don’t know if it has any qualities that affect blood sugar.

  • @emh8861 says:

    This was funny Dennis. 🤣

  • @johnshadow9310 says:

Thank you. In service Dr shared a couple of tidbits you and your audience might appreciate. How can you measure insulin resistance? He said two ways one complicated the other super simple. Fasting glucose complicated one. Easy one stand up straight look down at toes. If you cannot see them you have some degree of insulin resistance. Also one disease causes almost all diseases. Dunlap’s disease. When your belly dun laps over your belt. Much wisdom

  • @kinpatu says:

I don’t agree with a lot of her advice either, but she’s still far more on point than Standard of Care medicine and the US nutrition guidelines.

  • @ronnysmobilephone says:

The way you think and talk about these 125 rules is the way I, as an atheist, think about people that talk about God.

I like your advice on blood sugar because… It’s realistic.

  • @ruthhaney2946 says:

Love your practical realistic advice. Everything you say is so true. Keep it simple and watch the carbs. Thank you 😊

  • @victorialg1270 says:

Energy is a far wider subject than insulin management. Casey Means is aiming at the whole planet. You have focused on one cove on one beach on one ocean.

  • @johnsyler8580 says:

    I’ll follow your advice Dennis.

  • @johnK85086 says:

Dennis has to be the most underrated influencer on YouTube. Love his wisdom and videos. 🙏

  • @johnK85086 says:

Dennis always so on point. The simple answer is the one!
