Exactly. “Being careful” is an understatement. Creating a token of this podcast translates to absolutely zero value, nor can it be leveraged, used, or liquidated. That is the problem with blockchain as a reality removed from the transfer of value between humans. The transfer is the point of currency as a medium of exchange. If the value doesnt exist, a transfer of value has not occurred. Regardless of what you tell yourself. Yes, value is in the mind, but it is also in other minds all at once. What people value changes. Nobody will ever “real”ize the value of the token of this podcast because there is no intrinsic value so it can’t be used. That is why this doesn’t work.
So, we need to take a complex money, take it to a seemingly safe intermediary that advertises some numbers and big users on its homepage to make us feel safe, and then despite being now 3 layers deep into complex scenarios where we arent in control we need to then organize an agreement between us and someone else, just for us to manage that relationship within the context of the other layers existing that may or may not be truly trustworthy at best and at worst could be absolutely corrupt and not saying it. Im at 18:27 and every single thing mentioned has now forced me so far away from rational simplicity that i am sure this does not work for real world application. The more complex a system or process becomes, the less likely it is to be controlled by good intentions. This is a disaster of wealth theft setting up to absolutely decimate particpants.
