As good as Ozempic? Tools for Managing Hunger
Check out www.drinkaeira.com. I don't own any part of the company or get paid commission. Neither is this a sponsored video.
Most people believe that counting calories is the key to weight loss, but that is a major misconception. The real secret to lasting weight loss isn't about calories—it's about controlling hunger. Drugs like Ozempic and GLP-1 agonists have proven this by targeting appetite, but you don't need medication to achieve these results.
In this video, I break down the science of hunger management and share 3 powerful natural tools to help you suppress appetite and extend your fasting window comfortably. We discuss the hormonal impact of protein, the metabolic benefits of green tea, and the thermic effect of ginger.
I also introduce a new product line called Aeira, which I helped develop to make bone broth and fasting teas more accessible and effective for everyone. Finally, you'll hear the inspiring story of Heather, a nurse practitioner who transformed her health by understanding that "hunger is a liar" and learning to control it.
In this video, you will learn:
✅ The Calorie Myth: Why focusing on calories fails and why hunger is the root cause of overeating.
✅ Bone Broth Benefits: Why traditional bone broth works for satiety and why bouillon cubes are not a valid substitute.
✅ Green Tea Science: How catechins and caffeine in green tea improve metabolic rate and reduce hunger.
✅ The Power of Ginger: New research showing how ginger and herbal teas increase the thermic effect of food and promote fullness.
✅ Real Success Story: How Heather used these exact tools to overcome lifelong obesity.
📘 PRE-ORDER MY NEW BOOK: "The Hunger Code" (Coming March 2026) This book is a direct sequel to The Obesity Code and dives deep into hunger management and resetting your body's fat thermostat.

Looking forward to the book. The previous books are fantastic. Learned a lot about myself. Thanks Doc.
I’m not so hungry now. It’s not easy but getting past the frist 2 or 3 days is the hardest .
I just ignore my hunger for 30 minutes and it disappears.
But when I fell off the wagon again I need to add 2 eggs with bacon and an extra piece of meat to my diet, skip the potatoes to help me get through the night
I’m thankful for Dr. Fung!
Absolutely nailed it again Doc.
I’ve been on a frenzy, eating anything and everything I can. Sneak eating….. I was fasting great til an injury threw off my routine. Trying hard to get back in the swing of things.
You can do it!!!!!
@j@jayrainstone4764gree! Make the decision to either ease back in to it again OR rip the bandaid off in one go.
Ultimately it’s up to you and you get to decide what goes in to your mouth/belly 🙂
Thank you, Dr Fung! Thanks to you and your books, I stopped counting calories seven years ago and easily lost 50 lbs. After years of yo-yo dieting, I finally get it! You are my hero! ❤❤❤
Half a teaspoon of butter works for me.
Can’t wait to read your book Dr. Fung.
Will there be an audiobook for your upcoming book THE HUNGER CODE?
i got my slow cooker for cheap at Canadian tire… it’s a matter of just making the bone broth regularly, and changing our habits and beliefs… the bone broth i make is simple and easy and it works magic… each and every time
I have to develop the habit of saving my bones. I have pork ribs and chicken wings fairly often but forget to save the bones! 🥴
I put Redmonds real salt on my tongue and it helps so much with hunger
Yes
like magic!
I will try that!
OMAD for over 2 years, I don’t get hungry at all. I look forward to and thoroughly enjoy my meal but I’m not really hungry! I’m at a healthy weight and feel great at 70 years old.
I am 72, and I am always excited when I see another older successful OMAD story. I just started with IF 19 weeks ago and moved to OMAD after 6 weeks. I do OMAD approximately 5-6 days each week, with 18-6 or 20-4 IF on days that are challenging with social engagements. Still having great success with a loss of 14 pounds so far; I am technically not overweight at this point but my goal is to lose 15 more pounds, as I carry excess weight in my torso.I was very encouraged by this video of Dr. Fung’s and hope to begin using bone broth to help with occasional hunger.
Congratulations to Heather. Wonderful story!
I will be buying your book. I have the other ones and you’ve helped me so very much.
I have cravings not hunger. It is so hard especially at night when I want sugar sugar sugar
How do you manage cravings? What is your Insulin level?
I am not interested in those products myself. I make my own bone broth. And I like my green tea. I also drink lemon ginger tea once in a while. But I’m glad that there are products out there to make it easier for people who can’t or don’t want to make their own. I have lost 95 pounds since I started fasting. I have not been great about eating the best food so that is the next thing I need to work on and I’ve got about 25 more pounds to go to get to my target wait. Thank you for everything you’ve done.
Also the hunger pangs are tied to a circadian rhythm. So when tou get a pang you’ll know it’s around 12-2 or 7-9pm
Just came off of a 79 hour fast. Lost 3.6 kgs on the scale, of which I chatgpt tells me 800gms was fat. Very happy that I discovered your channel Dr. Fung.
I eat sardines with Tabasco sauce. A tin just kills the hunger and has a ton of good nutrients. Two thumbs up! 💯
