  1. i’m definitely a senior also, my a1c a year ago was over 11. my latest is 5.0 . i credit you for helping me, your bread. biscuits, candy has helped me in lowest carbs possible.

  2. I used to comment more here, but anymore you make the points i was going to raise within your video. Hypo episodes for type 2 patients are almost always with those on prescription meds; low carb diet or not.

  3. It amazes me how negligent a lot of healthcare workers are towards the elderly. A lot of them do nothing to maximize people’s longevity and quality of life.

  4. I worked at my hospital for 38.5 years; 28.5 of those as an RN. I remember patients between 30-50s being diagnosed diabetic and felt real sad as they now had to restrict their favorite foods and were at higher risk. I did happen to run into the occasional patient that had a good handle on their blood sugar levels with diet alone. When I hit 60, I became diabetic. Did I follow my doctors advice? Heck no. Like many, I watched YouTube videos and came across your channel. Best basic advice I’ve seen here. I have never crept past 6.5 hgb A1C since I was first diagnosed; I keep myself in the 5’s. Do my doctors ask me what I’m doing? No. Do they try to give me tips? No. It’s like an elephant in the room that they try to ignore lol. I watch you to keep reminding myself to stay on track. I have referred family to you-including 2 sons (I’m 65). God’s blessings on you and yours. I’ve already preordered your book coming out for my son(my other son has found a few good meals he eats often, walks after each meal—he’s not on any meds at all). My other son was diagnosed in February of this year and is still finding his “way.” I’m always sending him stuff to read/watch. Is it easy? No. Is it worth doing? Oh yes. Gods blessings on you and yours sir. Thank you! 🙏🏼

  5. I watched that video and felt personally affronted by her recommendations. It seems like too many doctors write off older people like us ☹️

  6. I remember that incident with your ” friend” the diabetic doctor… I’m surprised he didn’t face serious consequences for that almost criminal acts

  7. Dennis, you’ve got me beat. I’m going up a little. Now I’m 5.4, but I’m older than you. Respect your elders. (just kidding) Blessings and give our blessings to Benedicta.

  8. I’ve said it here before and will say it again, thank God I found this channel before I went the route of the usual suspects. Thanks again Dennis! Almost 3 years in the low 5s because of this channel!

  9. I’m borderline diabetic. 76 years old, active, proper weight, no meds.
I maintain a low carb diet. My A1C is typically 5.8 to 6.02…

  10. I’m not in great shape, not even good shape.
    Almost 75 years old.
    I prefer a lower a1c.
    Last check up 6.3.
I currently use Monjero and try to lean towards Atkins style eating.

YAY to Dennis for the content in this video…Very Important Information. “That which I greatly fear has come around me!”…The Geriatric Dietician believes the A1C target for seniors who are healthy is between 7 and 7.5. She believes if a senior has a few health issues, an A1C of 8 is fine. The Geriatric Dietitian believes a A1C any lower might lead to hypoglycemic episodes. Love the testimonials that Dennis shared sent to the Geriatric Dietician: powerful! I appreciate this video so very much and plan to share it with friends!
