The Easiest Way to Get More Protein
If getting enough protein feels impossible… you're not alone.
Protein is filling, which is great… until you realize you still need a lot more than you're actually eating. And if you're on a GLP-1? It can be even harder.
One of the easiest changes I've made is adding collagen throughout the day. It's flavorless, colorless, mixes into coffee or water, and helps me effortlessly add another 30 grams of protein while also supporting my hair, skin, nails, and bones.
Sometimes the best health habits are the ones that require almost zero effort.
Comment COLLAGEN and I'll send you the one I use.

Which one do you use ?

I’ve done collagen in my coffee for a zillion years! 💪🏼
I have been told that collagen is not a complete protein.
Same
I’m gonna ask my dietitian- thanks for mentioning it ❤
I’ve heard a lot of people say collagen isn’t a complete protein
That’s what I’ve heard too. I believe it’s because it doesn’t contain tryptophan. It contains all the other aminos, but that one.
I also read its a waste of money if you’re north of menopause
It’s not.
The Leucine content is also negligible in collagen and we need it (more of as we age) to tell body to repair and build muscle. I actually just started adding 2.5 mg of Leucine to my coffee with the collagen and a little whey protein
I took protein powder for a week and then I couldn’t poop for a week😢😢😢
I’m trying to find non meat protein to add to my diet. Some proteins irritate my stomach. I don’t tolerate beans or most dairy products. I already eat seeds, nuts and grains but want to include other proteins. I prefer foods to supplements. Some supplements are okay but they have to be tolerable.
Unfortunately, it’s not a complete protein. No tryptophan. I got this from Google: Collagen is not a complete protein because it lacks a sufficient amount of the essential amino acid tryptophan. A complete protein must supply all nine essential amino acids that the human body cannot make on its own.
Please be careful, start slow and see how your body responds to collagen. It can cause horrible anxiety and insomnia, did for me.
Charlene, please stop telling people that they are getting protein from collagen powder. I put collagen powder in my coffee every day because it makes my hair and nails stronger and when I saw that there was 18g of protein in it, I was overjoyed. That was until I looked to the right and saw that it contributes zero to the percentage of daily value. The reason is because the protein in the collagen powder is not a complete protein. I asked Google for the reason why and that’s when I found out. I am an older woman, so it is imperative that I get the proper amount of protein every day to keep my muscles strong. Women are thinking that they are getting what they need through the collagen powder when they’re not, and that could be detrimental for them.
This is true. I add my multi collagen mix to my protein shakes but it does not count towards your true protein intake even though it says it is protein.
Excellent comment! Very wise!😊
Hmmm interesting
@marysimeone7118oh no! Ive been doing that. Does it have to be whey protein
Yes. I was watching a yt video by a doctor a while back. He said you can’t count the protein in collagen towards your requirements. He said the reason being was that the collagen was a triple helix structure and not a double helix like regular protein is. It gets absorbed and used differently.
Glad you said that bc that’s what I’ve been doing
Collagen is not a complete protein
Curious, what brand of Collagen peptides you use?

I can smell the collagen in all.
Made the mistake of c putting it in water once and I actually gagged.😢
Try another brand. Some are gross. Also, make sure it’s 3rd party tested
YOU LOOK GREAT!!! BTW
Face is settling in beautifully it just getting better and better looking
I did not know you could take more than 10 mg at a time that makes sense! When I take it with my coffee I stay satiated longer thanks
Can you suggest a non animal based collagen brand please?
There. Is no such thing as a non-animal based (real) collagen, I’m sorry to say
Thank you this is great .. I take CHKU
Collagen. But I thought collagen didn’t contain all the amino acids. And which bcca brand do u use please
Thank you!!!!! Exactly the issue!! Not hungry enough to consume 80-100 grams of protein and I recently stopped taking callogen (laziness). Will get back on it immediately!
