I don’t have any children of my own but I was very involved in raising my sister’s kids. I was talking to a couple of them the other day and trying to talk about their childhood and I just remember so little. I wish I or their mother had done keepsakes for their childhood, so I didn’t have to rely on just my shoddy memory. Should I have kids some day myself, I think I’ll definitely take up that letter writing, at the very least.
Thank you so so much for writing this! I hope they love it as much as I feel purpose in doing it. I wish I had these things for myself. I don’t know much about what came natural to me before the world came in and made me change my mind.

Wondering (also for myself) : spending time to create keepsakes for the kids. Is it really time spent for the kids? Isn’t it more time spent for ourselves? Probably both but I think for me it’s more within the personal time sphere…
What a beautiful question. I agree. I think I felt compelled to do it because it makes me feel like I’m taking a moment to reflect on our growth together, my kids and I. But I feel very passionately that they have something to look back on, like I’m doing it just as much for them.
