I drank for 40+ years…

Apparently giving up alcohol was supposed to make me boring. Joke’s on everyone, I’m still the loudest, most unfiltered person in the room… just with better skin and zero hangovers.

I never planned to love it this much, but here’s what I noticed:
• Small talk is unbearable now (if you’re boring, I’m out).
• Bedroom fun? Way better without it.
• Alcohol never lined up with my intelligence or my goal to age powerfully.
• My skincare routine shrunk, my skin got better.

And the kicker, I didn’t quit because of some dramatic rock bottom. I just wanted to see what life felt like without it. Spoiler: it’s simpler, clearer, and way funnier when you’re the only sober one at the party.

If you too stopped drinking what’s one thing that surprised you the most??

  1. YES! I hate when people are like: are you high/drunk? No biznatch, I just know how to have a good time 😂 I grew up in an age before every silly thing was posted for STRANGERS online to judge 🤣

  2. 59 Gen Xer here, I did my drinking at a young age and then went on with my adult life without alcohol. I aged much better than my peers that drank their whole adult life. I also stayed out of the sun. I have just as much fun without liquor and I look better for it.

  3. I drank enough for seven lifetimes and decided to take a break because an influencer I followed had lost weight by quitting. Over 2 1/2 years later I’m still booze free. I NEVER thought I could do it or that I would ever have any fun ever again. Thankfully I was so wrong. Plus I’m richer from not blowing so much cash on drinks!!😂

  4. I actually don’t like loud noises or crowds at r going to places where people are drinking since I have mainly curtailed drinking…

  5. Yes! Stopped in 2020 and wow, my brain works better, skin looks better and I never deal with hangovers. But the cognitive effect my brain works thing is no joke.
